- Targets skin tags of all sizes
- Precise laser technology
- No cutting or stitching required (typically no stitches)
- The laser helps limit bleeding by coagulating small blood vessels
Laser skin tag removal is a minimally invasive procedure designed to remove skin tags quickly and effectively. Skin tags (acrochordons) are small, benign growths that often appear where skin rubs against skin or clothing. They are typically found on the neck, armpits, groin, eyelids and under the breasts, and are made up of collagen fibres, blood vessels and skin cells. Although harmless, they can be bothersome or a cosmetic concern, which is why some people choose to have them removed.
Treatment Discomfort:
Minimal once numbed; varies individually
Longevity:
Long-lasting, not permanent; can recur

Laser Skin Tag Removal Procedure Information
Treatment Areas
- Skin tags (acrochordons) of all sizes
- Commonly treated on the neck, armpits, groin, eyelids and under the breasts
- Suitable for many areas where skin tags develop, following individual assessment
Common Names
- Skin tag removal
- Acrochordon removal
- Non-surgical skin tag removal
MOA
Laser skin tag removal uses focused light energy that is absorbed by the skin tag, cutting off its blood supply so the tag is removed. The laser targets the skin tag while limiting effect on surrounding healthy tissue, and helps limit bleeding by coagulating small blood vessels. For larger tags, the laser removes the tissue with precision without the need for cutting or stitching.
Laser Skin Tag Removal Treatment Summary
Number of Treatments
A single treatment is usually enough for a raised skin tag, while some may require 2 to 4 sessions. The number depends on the size and number of skin tags and is confirmed at your consultation.
Procedure Time
Each procedure takes approximately 15 minutes, with each tag typically only a few minutes. The exact time depends on the size and number of skin tags treated.
Discomfort Level
Sensation varies between patients — most experience minimal discomfort once the area is numbed with a strong numbing cream (larger skin tags may require a local anaesthetic injection). Pain management is discussed at your consultation.
Recovery Time
A small scab forms afterwards and usually heals in about 5 to 7 days, with the skin generally healing within 1 to 2 weeks. Downtime is generally short but varies between individuals.
Results
The skin tag is removed during the procedure; the treated area may appear slightly red or pink initially, and a small scab may take a few days to fall off naturally, usually leaving little to no visible trace. Individual results vary.
Duration of Results
Removal is usually long-lasting but not permanent — a completely removed skin tag does not typically grow back, though new skin tags can develop in other areas over time and any recurrence can be re-treated. Individual results vary.
Resumption of Usual Activities
Most light activities can be resumed immediately, avoiding strenuous exercise (sweating) or swimming for the first 24–48 hours. It is advised to avoid strenuous activity and sun exposure for a few days.
Aftercare
Keep the treated area clean and dry, apply any prescribed ointments as directed, avoid picking or scratching, and protect it from sun exposure with sunscreen or clothing. Aftercare instructions are provided to support healing and reduce the risk of infection.
Laser Skin Tag Removal General Information
Process
An initial consultation with one of our clinicians is needed to assess the skin tags and discuss treatment options (patients can also email photos to help determine suitability). Each skin tag is carefully examined and only removed once we are satisfied it is appropriate to do so. The area is cleaned and a local anaesthetic or numbing cream may be applied, then the laser is carefully directed at the skin tag to remove it.
How to Choose Your Laser Skin Tag Removal Treatment Provider
With any skin lesion, the most important step comes before the laser: making sure what’s being removed really is a harmless skin tag. A good provider will examine each lesion and be willing to hold off — or refer you to your GP or a skin-cancer clinic — if anything looks new, changing, bleeding or uncertain, because cosmetic removal is only appropriate for lesions confirmed benign. Beyond that, it’s reasonable to ask whether the person treating you is a qualified, registered practitioner experienced with laser lesion removal, how they keep bleeding and the risk of infection low, and whether they explain aftercare and the small chance of pigment change or scarring. Take your time and ask questions before agreeing to treatment.
Why Choose MedAesthetics for Laser Skin Tag Removal?
A skin tag is usually harmless, but telling one apart from something that needs medical attention takes clinical judgement — which is the main reason to have removal done where there’s medical oversight. At MedAesthetics:
- Treatment is doctor-led and overseen by Dr Ehsan Jadoon (MED0001586460), Registered Medical Practitioner (general registration)
- Each lesion is examined by a qualified clinician and only removed once it’s judged appropriate; anything suspicious is referred for assessment first
- You receive an individual consultation, and can email photos beforehand to help gauge suitability
- The benefits, limitations, risks (such as infection during healing or, uncommonly, scarring) and alternatives are explained openly, with no pressure to proceed
