FAQs

What is the difference between a doctor-led, boutique cosmetic clinic and a franchise corporate cosmetic clinic?

Cosmetic clinics can operate under a range of different ownership, business, and clinical models. Understanding these differences can help patients understand how a clinic is structured and where medical responsibility and clinical oversight sit.

Corporate clinic model
A corporate clinic is generally owned and operated by a company that may have multiple locations, with centralised management, branding, systems, marketing and operational processes. Individual clinics are part of a broader corporate organisation, and clinical services are delivered within that organisational structure.

Franchise clinic model
A franchise operates under a recognised brand and business system. The franchisee operates the individual clinic under an agreement with the franchisor and generally follows the franchisor’s established brand, systems and operational requirements. The franchisee, who may not be a medical professional,  typically owns or bears the financial responsibility for the individual business, while the franchisor controls or specifies significant aspects of the brand and business system.

Nurse-led clinic model
Nurse-led clinics can operate under a variety of structures. Generally, registered nurses are the primary practitioners providing cosmetic treatments, while prescribing and medical support may be provided by doctors who are external to the clinic or through independent prescribing arrangements. The level and nature of ongoing medical (doctor) supervision can therefore vary between practices.

The Medaesthetics model
Medaesthetics is a doctor-owned and medically led cosmetic clinic group, founded by Dr Ehsan Jadoon. Medical expertise is an integral part of our organisation and clinical model, alongside our experienced registered cosmetic nurses and dermal clinicians.

Our approach is designed to provide patients with access to medical assessment, clinical oversight, treatment planning and ongoing care within an integrated clinical organisation.

The distinction is therefore not simply who performs an individual treatment. It is also about the clinical structure behind the treatment, including who provides medical oversight, how treatment decisions are made, and how patients can access medical expertise when required.

At Medaesthetics, our focus is on clinical care, patient safety, individualised treatment planning, natural-looking results and continuity of care, rather than simply providing a standardised treatment menu.

What are the qualifications of Dr Jadoon?

Dr. Jadoon is a fully registered medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and is a Fellow of both the Cosmetic Physicians College of Australasia (FCPCA) and the Australasian College of Aesthetic Medicine (FACAM).

Are all the treatments available in every location?

Treatment availability varies by location based on onsite equipment. If you are interested in a specific service, please contact us to confirm availability.

Why are you not able to advertise treatment names and pricing?

Under Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code, advertising prescription-only (Schedule 4 and 8) medicines to the public, including their specific names and prices, is heavily restricted. To remain fully compliant with TGA regulations, individual treatment costs and plans are provided directly during your personalized consultation.

What is your no show/cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the appointment to another patient.

Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as appointments that are not attended without notice, may incur a cancellation or no-show fee. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may also affect future booking arrangements.

Our team will advise you of any applicable fees and booking conditions at the time of booking.

Do I need a GP referral for cosmetic treatments at Medaesthetics?

Generally, you do not need a GP referral to make an appointment for cosmetic treatments at Medaesthetics.

Our clinicians can assess your concerns, medical history and treatment goals during your consultation and determine whether the treatment you are considering is appropriate for you.

In some circumstances, your clinician may recommend that you see your GP or another medical specialist before proceeding with treatment. This may be necessary where there are relevant medical considerations or where further assessment is required to ensure your treatment can be provided safely and appropriately.

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes! A thorough consultation is an important first step before undergoing any treatment. It allows your clinician to understand your concerns, assess your skin and anatomy, discuss suitable treatment options and develop an individualised treatment plan.

Why are some injectable treatment names not clearly mentioned on your website?

Some injectable treatments used in cosmetic medicine involve Schedule 4 prescription-only medicines. Australian advertising regulations restrict the way these medicines can be advertised to the public, including restrictions on publicly promoting certain treatment names and descriptions.

For this reason, you may see general descriptions of treatment approaches on our website rather than the specific name of the prescription medicine. Your clinician can provide you with detailed information about the appropriate treatment options during your consultation.
