Popular Non-Surgical Treatments to Consider

People often ask us which non-surgical cosmetic treatments are most commonly requested. Below are some of the treatments people frequently ask about at MedAesthetics. This is a general overview, not a recommendation to have any of them — every treatment suits different people, skin types and goals, and what is appropriate for you (if anything) is determined at an individual consultation. Individual results vary, and all cosmetic treatments carry some risk, which we explain during your assessment.

Treatments people commonly ask about

RevLite Q-Switched laser

A non-ablative laser used for concerns such as sun spots and freckles, melasma, hormonal pigmentation, the appearance of fine lines, enlarged pores and active acne. Suitability across different skin types is assessed individually, and results and recovery vary from person to person.

CoolSculpting

A non-surgical body-contouring treatment (cryolipolysis) that uses controlled cooling to target localised pockets of fat that can be resistant to diet and exercise. Published studies of cryolipolysis have reported reductions in the treated fat layer, but the degree of change varies between individuals and is not guaranteed. Like any procedure it carries risks; suitability, risks and recovery are discussed at an individual assessment.

Venus Legacy non-surgical fat & cellulite reduction

A treatment that combines infrared light, radiofrequency energy and vacuum to heat the deeper layers of the skin, which is intended to support collagen and elastin and address the appearance of skin laxity, cellulite and body contour in the treated area. Results develop over a course of treatments and vary between individuals.

AquaGold Fine Touch

A microneedling delivery device with fine, gold-plated needles that create tiny channels in the skin. Some people consider it to support overall skin quality, tone and texture. The solutions delivered are selected at consultation; where any prescription-only components are involved, these are prescription-only medicines and are discussed with you individually rather than named or promoted publicly. Comfort, downtime and results differ between individuals.

Jawline and chin contouring

Some people consider an injectable treatment for the appearance of fullness under the chin (submental fullness). It uses a prescription-only medicine, so by law we cannot name the specific product, substance or quantities in public information — these, along with the benefits, limitations and risks, are discussed with you at a consultation. Results develop over time and vary between individuals, and the treatment carries risks including swelling and, less commonly, more serious complications. You can read more in A Guide to Non-Surgical Treatments for Localised Fat.

Are injectable treatments still popular?

Injectable treatments — used by some people to address the appearance of fine to deeper expression lines and changes in facial volume — remain among the treatments people commonly ask about, often alongside daily sun protection and a considered skincare routine. Because these treatments use prescription-only medicines, we do not name brands, products or quantities in public information. What is appropriate for you, and what result is realistic, depends on your individual anatomy and is assessed at consultation. Choosing an appropriately qualified, registered practitioner who listens to your concerns is an important part of the process; even so, outcomes vary between individuals and are never guaranteed.

What about micro-dosing?

Some treatments, such as AquaGold, deliver very small amounts of product into the upper layers of the skin. People consider these to address the appearance of skin texture, pore size and hydration. As with any treatment involving a prescription-only medicine, the specifics are assessed and discussed individually rather than named publicly, results develop gradually and vary between people, and comfort and downtime differ from person to person. It is not a treatment to rush before an event — a considered decision, made after an individual assessment, is more important than timing.
